Life isn't going too good in the world of Harley Quinn. I need to escape Arkham Asylum, but I haven't had much time to write lately, so I can't escape. I first started getting serious about my writing when my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer in January. Since the initial diagnosis, the cancer has now spread to her lungs and her collar bone. She spent many hours in the hospital yesterday having massive amounts of fluid drained from her left lung. This could continue to be a weekly event for her. Essential, she is drowning herself. Round the clock oxygen started today. She is worried that she won't be well enough for the vacation she has planned. Her daughter (my Aunt Kitty) was killed when a deer hit her motorcycle in Custer State Park, South Dakota in 2002. Since then, my family has been out to that area about every other year. My mom is planning on taking grandma out there again, leaving May 6. Grandma really wants to be able to make the trip.

A "Mommy" Day

Today has been kind of a blah day. I haven't gotten any further in From the Corner of Her Eye. I am really getting curious to how it ends!  I decided to run a little experiment today. I made the Kindle edition of Summer Love free for the day. As of right now, it has had 17 copies downloaded, and I sold one copy of Autumn Goodbye. Hopefully, once people read the book, they will want to buy Book Two as well! Book sales is not my main goal at the moment. I just want my name out there. If you read a copy of my books, please leave a review. There are numerous places this can be done at. If you have a Kindle, leave a review there. There is also my Facebook page (which I am ALWAYS on), and don't forget Goodreads! Today was a "mommy" day, so there was no time for writing. I spent the day with my two year old while the rest of the children were in school. Shopping. Cleaning. Laundry. All that fun mommy stuff. Tomorrow I don't see much time for writing either. A fri
When I first started writing, I never imagined how much I would actually connect with my characters. In the First Love series, it was easy, because most of the characters were based on real people. Chad was an important part of my teenage life, and I have spend years coping with the loss of him. The characters in that book were already there, I just had to describe them. In From the Corner of Her Eye, I didn't have ready-made characters. I had to make them up. This scared me at first. How would I make them seem real if they are only in my head? Now that I am about halfway through the writing process, I realize that was a fear I didn't need to have. I find myself knowing exactly how each character will react to certain things. I know how they think and what they are going to say. I'll admit, I have no idea exactly how this book is going to end. When I started writing it, I just had a general idea of the story. It has been writing itself ever since. Hopefully the ending is a
Well, I finally got a new computer, so I'm able to get some more work done. While I was playing around, setting it up, I realized I didn't have a blog site yet, Yes, I post a lot of updates to the Facebook Page, but it's not the same.  I'm not going to write too much in this first post, but I do want to publish some contact information. I love interacting with my fans! Let me know what you loved (or even hated) about my books! Or even if you just want someone to talk to.  Facebook: www.facebook.com/harleyturner.author  Please go give it a LIKE and feel free to message me or post directly on my wall Email: harleyturner.author@gmail.com Yahoo Messenger: harleyquinn621
